School of Social Sciences is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Fellow.

The research fellow is expected to collaborate actively with a multinational, multidisciplinary team working on a large-scale research project utilizing mixed methods to examine the role of life narratives in collective identification. Successful candidate will work closely with the Principal Investigator (Associate Professor Wan Ching) in the analyses of collected survey and experiment data on cultural representations of life narratives and implications for collective identification, design and oversee data collection of follow-up experiments, and contribute to the writing of project reports, research publications, and grant proposals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, preparation, and coordination of psychology experiments on narratives and identification
  • Lead quantitative analyses of survey and experiment data, with potential integration of results from qualitative and computational text analyses
  • Preparation of project reports
  • Writing of analysis results, research manuscript drafts, grant proposals


Job Requirements:
  • PhD in Psychology or related fields from a reputable university, with expertise in research on collective identity and/or culture
  • Familiarity with experimental social psychology methods
  • Excellent quantitative analysis skills including multilevel modeling
  • Good organizational skills and able to work within tight deadlines
  • Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong team player with the ability to learn and work independently in a multidisciplinary team
