A Research Fellow/ Research Assistant position is currently available in the Nanyang Environment & Water Research Institute.

Key Responsibilities:

• Membrane processes modelling and optimization for chemical
• Design and operate fluidized bed crystallizers for resource recovery from wastewater sludge
• Develop, design, and optimize NF/RO processes from laboratory to pilot scale for a chemical company
• Support lab experimentation such as nanofiltration/reverse osmosis filtration, nanofiltration membrane bioreactor process
• Process optimization to validate the developed models
• Perform water analysis with advanced analytical equipment such as HPLC, GC etc
• Perform membrane fouling characterization and membrane autopsy
• Prepare research paper, progress report and presentations
• Supports the development of resource recovery methodology from wastewater sludge

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor degree (for Research Assistant) or PhD degree (for Research Fellow) from a reputable university in chemical/environmental engineering
• Relevant research experience in membrane process design and optimization
• Experience in fluidized bed design and operation
• Relevant research/hands-on experience in membrane experiments
• Experience with Phyton/Matlab
• Oral presentation skill and multitasking skill
• Self-motivated and able to work on your own and in a team
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good communication and writing in English is essential for data analysis
• Strong responsibility for research
