Join Our Team at the School of Biological Sciences, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

The School of Biological Sciences (SBS), part of the College of Science, was established in 2002 with a mission to advance biological and biomedical sciences. At SBS, our research spans various areas, including infectious diseases, immunology, neurodegenerative diseases, telomere biology, and genome function. Over the years, SBS has attracted talented individuals from around the world and Singapore to join as scientific leaders and researchers.

Join the laboratory of Linda Zhong at the School of Biological Sciences. We are seeking a Research Associate/Research Fellow to contribute to a project focused on exploring the role of microbiome in systemic diseases and driving revolutionary discoveries that advance health and medicine. The candidate will join the team to undertake high quality research in microbiome medicine, in line with the overarching research strategy of the school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake high-quality research to plan, design, organize, and execute scientific experiments in molecular biology, microbiology, and microbiome medicine
  • Generate, analyze, and effectively communicate scientific data in a professional manner
  • Provide supervision and guidance to students, trainees, and other laboratory personnel
  • Actively participate in all research-related activities within the team
  • Contribute to formulating hypotheses and assist in grant writing efforts


Job Requirements:
  • PhD (for Research Fellow position) or Master's degree (for Research Associate position) in Microbiology, Biomedical Science, or related disciplines
  • Experience in biology, biomedical research, and bioinformatics
  • Proficiency in conducting in vitro cell culture assays, molecular and cell biology techniques
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English is essential for data analysis
  • Proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals
  • Ability to thrive in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary environment
