Reporting to the Director, this position is a key role in NTU's Career & Attachment Office (CAO). The incumbent leads and oversees the Student Career Services Section of NTU Career & Attachment Office (CAO), which contributes to equipping 33,000 NTU students to be career-ready and industry-ready, as well as facilitating collaborations with industries to increase their employability.

Responsibilities

Strategic Planning & Central Administration

1) Liaise with University Management, MOE, Student & Academic Services Department (SASD), Schools and other relevant Offices to provide timely response, reports and necessary data analytics in relation to career and employment information.

2) Oversee the budget management and governance at CAO level.

3) Represent CAO on University and SASD level projects.

Leadership of Student Career Services

4) Develop strategic plan to prepare all 33,000 undergraduate and postgraduate students to be career-ready, industry-ready and facilitate opportunities, in alignment with the University's latest directions, as well as the evolving needs of students and industries.

5) Lead the Team to drive for results and innovation, foster a strong healthy team culture and develop staff.

6) Oversees and guide respective teams in achieving annual targets of all the 7 functions under Student Career Services with high student satisfaction rate, with the objective to create positive impacts on all NTU undergraduate and postgraduate students:

a) Career Consultancy & Employer Relations
  • Engage employers directly to promote NTU and seek internship and job opportunities for students and graduates.
  • Consult and strategise with employers how to reach and engage NTU students specifically to acquire the right graduates and skills to meet their talent needs.


b) Mass Recruitment & Outreach
  • Engage employers to recruit NTU students effectively and efficiently via large-scale mass recruitment platforms both physically and virtually.
  • Launch marketing campaigns via physical events and social media platforms at University and School levels to raise the career awareness of NTU students in promoting early career planning and preparation.


c) Career Coaching & Career Business Partnering
  • Provide individual and group career coaching at CAO and School levels, utilizing career assessment tools, and leveraging on the latest technologies.
  • Spearhead the Career Business Partnering to foster a closer partnership with Schools.


d) Data Analytics & Technology
  • Use data analytics on graduate employment related statistics to provide better insights for better decision at Student Career Services Team, CAO, Schools and University level.
  • Optimise the use of technologies in Career Advisory, Operations, Coaching, and Recruitment, at Team and CAO levels to increase efficiency and productivity.


Requirements
  • A recognised degree with at least 15 years of experience in career services, career advisory, development of educational programme for tertiary education students, training, learning & development (those with direct student career services experience in Institute of Higher Learning would be advantageous).
  • Proven leadership and managerial experience having demonstrated critical/analytical yet creative and synergistic thinking, strategic business planning, financial budgeting, and motivating people to achieve extraordinary results.
  • Creative and ability to conceptualize and develop educational programs that meet industry needs.
  • Familiarity and experience with career assessment tools and AI-enabled career technologies.
  • Proven track record in engaging various stakeholders, building win-win relationships and fostering collaborations.
  • Strong operational experience (particularly with programme management and event management); highly detailed in analyzing processes and situation to solve or prevent problems.
  • Demonstrate maturity at work with exceptional interpersonal skills across organizational hierarchy.
  • Excellent team player with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Passionate in nurturing young people in developing their potential and helping them achieving their desired career goals.
