School of Biological Sciences

Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

Assistant Professor / Associate Professor / Full Professor in Fungal or Plant Biology

The School of Biological Sciences (SBS) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore invites candidates to apply for a tenure track position at the level of Assistant, Associate or tenured Full Professor in Fungal or Plant Biology. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a diverse and accomplished team of faculty members from the Science and Engineering Schools on the NTU campus, access cutting-edge facilities and resources, and contribute to shaping the future of biological sciences.

The current faculty members within SBS are actively involved in diverse research areas spanning molecular, cellular, and organism levels. Our institution is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, featuring cutting-edge research tools such as light microscopes tailored for live microscopy and CorrSight, a correlative light and electron microscope. The Titan Krios Cryo-EM, complete with a Falcon4i detector, facilitates high-resolution imaging. Moreover, SBS hosts comprehensive biophysics facilities, including BiaCoreTM and ITC platforms, a diverse array of mass spectrometers dedicated to proteomics research, and a contemporary high-speed GPU cluster for computational endeavors.

Collaborative endeavors extend beyond the school, with many SBS faculty closely working with researchers from the Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (SCELSE) and the Asian School of the Environment (ASE). This collaboration leverages specialized equipment for high-throughput metabolomics, characterization of microbial biofilm, host-microbiome interaction, and microbial ecology. The successful candidate will have full access to these state-of-the-art facilities and will be immersed in the vibrant research ecosystem on campus, providing ample opportunities for professional growth and collaboration.

SBS and CoS seeks a diverse and inclusive workforce and is committed to equality of opportunity. We welcome applications from all and recruit on the basis of merit, regardless of age, race, gender, religion, marital status and family responsibilities, or disability.
