The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (NTU EEE) invites applications for the position of Research Associate.

The eVTOL Research and Innovation Centre at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, is looking for a strong candidate in the area of Thermal Management Systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and integration of thermal management systems for eVTOL aircraft, considering the unique challenges of electric propulsion and aerodynamics.
• Develop and implement strategies for efficient heat dissipation from critical components, including electric motors, inverters, and battery systems.
• Conduct thermal analysis and simulation to model and predict heat generation and dissipation within the aircraft systems under various flight conditions.
• Manage suppliers to select appropriate materials for thermal insulation and heat shielding, considering weight, durability, and thermal conductivity.
• Implement thermal barrier solutions to protect batteries from extreme temperatures.
• Develop and conduct lab tests, ground tests and flight tests to validate thermal management system performance under different operational scenarios.
• Generate detailed technical documentation, including specifications, thermal analysis reports, etc.

Job Requirements:

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field.
• Proven experience in thermal management system design for electric vehicles, aircraft, or similar applications.
• Proficiency in thermal analysis tools and simulation software.
• Knowledge of heat dissipation techniques, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Fluent English skill is a must.
