The School of Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering (MAE) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with other researchers (including PhD students and research staff) to conduct research on the structure-property relationship of additive manufactured (AM) alloys under the supervision by Prof. Gao Huajian.
  • Perform multiscale simulations (DFT, MD, FEM, Phase field model) to obtain fundamental understanding of the deformation mechanism of AM alloys and develop physics-based models for the verification and prediction of mechanical properties.
  • Deliver project millstones timely and present the work on internal and external conferences.


Job Requirements:
  • PhD degree in solid mechanics/computational mechanics/mechanics of materials
  • Rich experience in theoretical and computational mechanics
  • Good communication and writing in English
  • Good interpersonal skills;
  • Strong responsibility for research work.
  • Publication track record is an advantage
