NTU's Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute is looking for excellent candidates to support the research for the project titled: Deriving Energy Savings from Particle Separation in Industrial Plants through Acoustics Pre-conditioning.

The suitable candidate will become a part of a vibrant team addressing Singapore's challenges in waste and resource management and contribute to promote Singapore as a zero-waste circular economy smart city hub.

Job Responsibilities
  • Design, build and modify laboratory and pilot-scale setups
  • Design and perform sampling procedures for particulate matter in flue gas/syngas from waste incineration/gasification processes
  • Provide expertise on waste gasification/incineration process and dry flue gas treatment system
  • Produce understanding of particulate matter removal from flue gas after acoustic pre-conditioning


Job Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Thermal Engineering, Inorganic Chemistry, or a relevant field
  • Experience in waste gasification/incineration, dry flue gas treatment systems and gas/particulate matter sampling and analysis
  • Prior working experience in process plants and possession of a driving license are advantageous
