The Clinical Brain Laboratory within the School of Social Sciences (Psychology) at Nanyang Technological University is seeking applications for the Research Assistant position to help run cognitive and neurophysiological experiments to understand active aging in Singapore's elderly population. Harnessing the principles of Clinical Neuropsychology, our lab examines the intricate relationship underlying mental processes and behavior to understand how dysfunctions of the brain can affect our behaviour. The main research modalities in our lab include neuropsychological assessments, cognitive tests, functional/diffusion Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI), Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), electroencephalography (EEG) and transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS). The successful candidate will be an integral member of an inter-disciplinary research lab with international collaborators.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist in day-to-day coordination of funded projects
  • Assist in participant recruitment
  • Data collection using cognitive tasks and multimodal neuroimaging/neuromodulatory techniques (e.g. fMRI, TMS, EEG)
  • Liaise with stakeholders and project collaborators
  • Preparation of ethics documents to institutional review boards
  • Contribute to the production of research reports
  • Perform other tasks as required by the Principal Investigators relevant to the research

Job Requirements
  • Minimum Bachelor's (Honours) degree in Psychology, Cognitive Neuroscience, or related field from university of good standing
  • Experience with neurocognitive/neurophysiological/neuromodulatory techniques (e.g., MRI, EEG, TMS) is preferred
  • Good task-orientation, project coordination and administration skills, organizational skills, attention to details and accuracy, self-learning skills, flexibility in responding to fluid situations
  • Be able to converse with older adults who can only speak Chinese or Malay in their respective language
  • Interpersonal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work independently
