The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) invites applications for the position of Project Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform biological testing of our antibacterial polymers, coated surfaces and for free, unattached compounds for comparison.
• Perform collaborative research with companies on microbiology evaluation for our antibacterial compound for their formulations.
• Optimize methods for quantifying effects on the biofilm and planktonic bacteria across a range of time points and will test a range of bacteria.
• Responsible for preparation of experiments, execution and preparation of reports on results to be presented to the project PI for evaluation and refinement of the chemistry as well as experimental procedures.

Job Requirements:

• B. Eng. Or B. Sc. In Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Biology or experience person with Polytechnic diploma or BSc. in Biomedical sciences, Bioengineering, Microbiology, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering or equivalent .
• Experience in handling bacterial pathogens.
• Experience in cell, tissue and animal handling.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team
• Good interpersonal and communication skills, oral and written, as well as organizational
