The Centre for Chinese Language and Culture (CCLC) is looking for a candidate to join them as a Project Officer. The Project Officer reports to the CCLC Director and is expected to work closely with CCLC colleagues and actively participate in all levels of the projects.

The Project Officer is responsible for CCLC's academic events (including designing event posters, publicity, logistics, and IT support), academic publications (including editorial and admin support), publicity matters, and admin support

Job Responsibilities
  • Managing CCLC's academic publications by handling various editorial and admin matters, including article collection, copyediting, typesetting, proofreading, and post-publication admin matters
  • Managing CCLC's events and projects, including event planning, scheduling, sourcing and managing logistics, producing event collaterals and publicity materials, liaising with various parties involved, etc
  • Promoting and publicizing CCLC's events and publications, and managing the dissemination of such information via emails, CCLC's websites, CCLC's official account on Facebook, etc
  • Assisting the CCLC Manager in handling various finance and admin matters
  • Working on any other ad hoc matters


Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Humanities, or related discipline from a well-recognized university, preferably with finance and administrative background or experience
  • Effectively bilingual in English and Chinese (both oral and written) for editorial support
  • Able to multitask, work independently and take full ownership of the assigned project/job.
  • Meticulous with a keen eye for details and a strong sense of responsibility
  • Good IT skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, etc
  • Editorial skills as well as technical competencies in Adobe Photoshop / Illustrator are advantageous.
  • Preferably with familiarity of SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and social media practices (i.e. webinars via Facebook, WeChat, etc)
  • Able to work within allocated deadlines
  • Able to work beyond office hours and during weekends, including public holidays, when needed
