A Research Fellow position is available in the DNA and RNA Editing (DaRE) Laboratory at the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology (CCEB) in NTU.

The laboratory, led by Assoc Prof Tan Meng How, works on developing and applying cutting edge biotechnologies, including high throughput next generation (NGS) sequencing and CRISPR-Cas, to read and write genomes and transcriptomes in living cells. The research fellow will be involved in efforts to develop and apply new tools and methodologies to engineer nucleic acids and to push the boundaries of genomics and synthetic biology.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and apply new genomic technologies in cutting-edge biotechnological applications
  • Generate and analyze experimental data
  • Prepare reports and presentations
  • Write and publish journal papers
  • Guide PhD students and undergraduates


Job Requirements:
  • A PhD degree from a reputable university in science or engineering
  • Strong research experience in biomedical sciences, bioengineering, biotechnology, or a related discipline (such as genomics, genetics, microbiology, cell biology, molecular biology, synthetic biology etc.)
  • Outstanding publication track record, preferably with a first-author paper in a high-impact journal
  • Deep knowledge of the latest genomic technologies, including CRISPR and high throughput sequencing
