The Interdisciplinary Collaborative Core (ICC) Office invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.

The Interdisciplinary Collaborative Core (ICC) Office oversees new curricula focusing on key transferable skills and global challenges using an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to learning. The rapidly changing nature of work, compounded by the relentless speed of innovation, necessitates that our graduates constantly acquire new knowledge and competencies, and adapt to several career changes over their lifetimes. As forward-looking educators, we are in continual pursuit of providing a holistic education grounded in future-ready skills which will prepare our graduates for lifelong learning and global citizenship.

The incumbent will play a crucial role in conceptualizing, managing and executing research projects conducted to contribute towards ICC Office's goals of promoting interdisciplinary and collaborative learning in all NTU students. He/she will work closely with the Office and the teaching staff to conceptualize new research projects as well as work on current projects/data for promoting and measuring interdisciplinary and collaborative learning amongst students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design research approaches to measure interdisciplinary and collaborative learning and its impact on students
  • Data analysis for existing data and routine data that the office is collecting eg pre and post course survey
  • Propose improvements to existing research/survey designs
  • Propose new research/surveys to promote interdisciplinary and collaborative learning
  • Do project management for research projects
  • Lead and conduct data collection activities related to research projects
  • Take charge of research project budgeting and expenditure
  • Design small-scale survey using graphical-user interfaced software (e.g. Qualtrics, Google forms) including Microsoft Office suite
  • Present research findings and implications and follow up on required actions and plans with various stakeholders


Job Requirements:
  • Doctorate (PhD) degree (with some publications) in educational research, the learning sciences or science of learning or cognitive science, or related fields
  • Some knowledge, experience or interest in doing educational research, is highly preferred
  • Experience in using online search tools, especially online databases (e.g. EBSCOhost, Psycinfo, etc.)
  • Able to manage and organize participants for research studies and experiments
  • Knowledge and experience in social science research methodologies
  • Proficient in graphical-user interfaced software (e.g. Qualtrics, Google forms) including Microsoft Office suite
  • Strong planning and organization skills
  • Strong analytical, verbal and written communication skills
