Senior Assistant Director, Graduate Programmes [LKCMedicine]

The Senior Assistant Director (Graduate Programmes) is responsible for administering research and coursework graduate programmes at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCMedicine), Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. The job holder will also support the school's development of Continuous Education and Training (CET), and new graduate programmes. The Senior Assistant Director reports to Director (Education Management) and works closely with Director, PhD Programme as well as the Director, Postgraduate Coursework (PGC) and Continuing Education and Training (CET) programmes.

Responsibilities:

Admissions
  • Support the Programme Directors to achieve admission targets for each programme per AY
  • Contribute to development of media strategies
  • Conduct briefings during orientations


Scholarships
  • Oversee PhD scholarships, ensuring sufficient awards to align with enrolment targets and tracking utilisations
  • Apply PhD scholarships for new faculty and ensure utilisations by the stipulated timelines


Curriculum Development and Planning
  • Familiarise with and adopt best practices for the programmes
  • Identify novel education gaps and opportunities (and relevant teaching faculty)
  • Work with faculty to prepare course/degree proposal documentation for approval by School, University and Ministry (where applicable) and monitor approval timelines
  • Review and recommend opportunities for process alignment, automation, or enhancement


Assessments
  • Have oversight of the assessment processes for the programmes
  • Run Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs)


Reports and data
  • Collate data and produce reports for submission to School and University


Student Welfare and Wellbeing
  • Support Programme Directors in managing student issues
  • Organise student townhalls


Finance
  • Engage with internal stakeholders to plan and develop budget estimates for new courses
  • Monitor operating budgets for the programmes
  • Have oversight of operating and accumulated surpluses of programmes
  • Monitor PhD scholarship budget uitilisations


Leadership
  • Manage and train new administrators
  • Mentor and coach team members to support their professional development


Requirements:
  • Relevant Bachelor's Degree; Master's Degree is preferred
  • Background in higher education and/or healthcare administration
  • Experience in finance, strategic planning and management
  • Excellent organisational, written, and oral communication skills
  • Highly collaborative team player
  • Meticulous, resourceful, and adaptable


This is a 3 years contract appointment.
