The Emerging nanoscience Research Institute (EnRI) invites applications for the position of Research Fellow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Research design: collaborating with Principal Investigator and other team members to design and plan experiments related to the synthesis of nitro/nitramine based organic derivatives
• Conducting hands-on organic synthesis and experimentation to prepare and characterize nitro/nitramine based organic derivatives
• Analyzing experimental results and drawing conclusions from the data obtained
• Preparing and delivering presentations on research findings, both within the research group and at conferences. Writing scientific papers for publication in peer-reviewed journals
• Mentoring and guiding graduate or undergraduate students working in the lab

Job Requirements:

• PhD degree in Organic Chemistry/Chemical Technology
• Prior experience in a laboratory or industrial setting working with nitro/nitramine based organic derivatives or conducting nitration/hydrogenation reactions is preferred
• Experience in handling and storing hazardous materials
• Proficiency in various laboratory techniques, including but not limited to distillation, filtration, and recrystallization
• Experience with analytical instruments like gas chromatography (GC), nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), and mass spectrometry (MS) for product analysis and characterization
• A good team player with effective communication skills to convey technical information, experimental results, and safety protocols to colleagues/stake holders
• Self-motivated and able to work independently
