About the Division:

The Division of Banking and Finance (B&F) is committed to research excellence. Our faculty's research is consistently featured in top finance and actuarial/insurance journals. Based on publications in the top five actuarial/insurance journals from 2018 to 2022, B&F ranks No. 4 among business schools worldwide. The undergraduate program currently offers two specializations, Actuarial Science (ACS) and Risk Analytics (RA). The ACS programme is the only programme in Singapore accredited by the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries and recognized by the Society of Actuaries as a Center of Actuarial Excellence. The RA program covers the Financial Risk Manager (FRM) exam curriculum and enhances students' analytical skills for financial risk management. The Insurance Risk & Finance Research Centre (IRFRC), which was established in 2011, sponsors and directs primary research on insurance and insurance-related risk research in Asia Pacific.

Requirements:

Qualified candidates should hold a terminal degree in their respective field of study and possess a minimum of ten years of insurance industry experience, along with the relevant professional qualifications. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong industry experience in insurance, actuarial science, and risk management, as well as a strong professional network capable of facilitating connections between NBS and the industry. Successful candidates will be expected to actively engage in talent development and applied research activities in collaboration with the Global-Asia Insurance Partnership (GAIP: https://www.gaip.global/). Additionally, they will be expected to design and promote executive education programmes tailored for professionals in the global insurance industry, contribute to curriculum development, oversee course administration, and teach a range of courses, including insurance, risk management, actuarial science, and finance-related courses. Candidates should also have evidence of service and scholarship in the form of, but not limited to, good-quality publications, book chapters, written cases, pedagogical research, impactful creative works, or patents.
