Senior Executive, Safety

The School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology is seeking to hire a Senior Safety Executive to offer assistance across the 2 school sites. The incumbent will play a key role in developing and enforcing standard operations procedures while ensuring compliance with relevant regulations within the school.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with safety manager to implement and oversee logistics, standard operating procedures (SOP) and regulatory compliance at CCEB's two different locations
  • Align and streamline health and safety programmes and processes within the school to meet the University's requirements
  • Ensure compliance to various regulatory licenses and permits
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and assist in audits to ensure activities are performed in accordance to Office of Health and Safety (OHS) requirements
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to laboratory safety leaders/representatives to enhance the execution of their safety roles and responsibilities
  • Optimise resources utilization by fostering teamwork among amongst the Department's Safety & Health Coordinators
  • Coordinate Health & Safety emergency preparedness within the school and support in drills/exercises.
  • Take initiative to develop, review, implement and monitor the school's emergency response plan and emergency response team
  • Organise and support health & safety activities and promotional programmes at school level
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned


Requirements
  • Degree in Safety & Health or Engineering
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in Safety and Health related roles
  • Proficient knowledge of health and safety in University laboratory setup (Radiation or Electrical or Mechanical or Bio-Chemical)
  • Experience in various regulatory license/permits and the emergency response plan.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Words, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneDrive).
  • Strong command of English, able to converse and write proficiently
  • Efficient and strong analytical skills, and able to work independently.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with cross-functional teams
