Research Fellow (Quantum Information and Learning)

Division of Physics and Applied Physics (PAP) in School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences (SPMS) is looking for a candidate to join them as a Research Fellow.

The candidate is expected to conduct research under the umbrella of the Gu's qroup covering various cross-disciplinary aspects of quantum information, focusing on its intersection with data analytics, and stochastic modelling. Keys areas of research include Quantum Algorithms, Quantum Data Analytics, Quantum Machine Learning and NISQ Computing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in key areas of quantum information science and/or quantum machine learning
  • Help in supervision of students in key areas of quantum information science and/or quantum machine learning
  • Initiate collaborations with international experts in quantum information science and/or quantum machine learning


Job Requirements:
  • PhD in theoretical quantum information, machine learning or related field
  • Previous experience in the proposal of new quantum algorithms/protocols
  • Previous experience in quantum machine learning
  • Experience in adapting theoretical concepts to testable experimental proposals
  • Collaborative ties with leading experimental groups in quantum technologies
  • Research experience or general knowledge in areas of data analytics
