The School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering is looking for a Research Associate in the area of 3D intelligent perception system development. The successful candidate will work with Prof. Danwei Wang and a group of Research Fellows, Research Associates and PhD/Masters/Bachelors students in school of EEE at Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and design 3D intelligent perception algorithms for digital twin-based tele operation system and autonomous system in various environments.
• Develop and implement 3D obstacle detection algorithm based on prebuilt HD map.
• Test and integrate existing sensor suite product.
• Integrate perception modules into teleoperation systems and autonomous systems.
• Explore the robustness of perception modules in complex scenarios.

Job Requirements:

• Masters degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering
• Experience in Autoware
• Programming skills in C++, Python, ROS
• Familiar with implementing deep learning algorithms such as 3D object detection.
• Experience with using OpenCV / PCL / Open3D / PyTorch
• Good verbal and written communication skills in English
• Project experience which involves object detection, point cloud clustering.
