A*STAR Infectious Diseases Labs (A*STAR IDL) is seeking a Research Officer to join us in advancing research at the cutting edge of infectious diseases. A*STAR IDL aims to be the global leader in tropical infectious diseases through scientific excellence in research and innovation to enhance human health and respond to future pandemics.

Dr Foo's lab at A*STAR IDL is looking to hire a Research Officer to work in a highly interactive and diverse research lab. This is a position in a viral immunology laboratory with a focus on viral infections during pregnancy. The successful candidate will assist with general lab duties, protocol and compliance responsibilities, and will be proactively involved in assigned research projects. Although prior experience in a research lab is highly preferred, training and supervision will be provided.

Job Description:

• Design and conduct experiments including data collection and analysis.
• Perform meticulous recordkeeping and draft reports and presentations to collaborators.
• Oversee daily laboratory activities and help manage the lab's routine admin duties.
• Help new students and postdocs settle into the lab, transfer techniques to them, and participate in their research.
• Ensure safe technical practices and procedures.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences, Biochemistry, Life Sciences, Biological Sciences, Infectious Diseases, Microbiology, Immunology, or related field.
• At least 6 months wet lab experience, you must have experience in molecular biology and in cell culture.
• General lab skills in molecular biology.
• Highly motivated and able to work independently and multitask.
• Team player with good interpersonal skills.
• Good spoken and written communication skills.
• A strong desire to constantly learn and acquire new skills.
