Key Responsibilities

Operational
  • Manage all aspects of invoicing, bookkeeping, month-end closing, including the daily journals and ledger entries, preparation of management accounts and financial reports.
  • Handle all incoming receipts and outgoing payments, bank reconciliations and bank account management.
  • Monitor and reconcile accounts receivable and payable regularly and prepare intercompany balance reports for timely reconciliation.
  • Verify and analyze data and operational costs, handle expense applications, ensure procurement aligns with signed contracts and process procurement workflows.
  • Ensure compliance with Financial Reporting Standards, GST compliance requirements and corporate income tax requirements in Singapore, including all applicable quarterly and annual filings.
  • Perform additional finance and accounting-related tasks as required by management.

US Headquarters Integration
  • Lead the integration of financial processes and reporting with our US-based NASDAQ-listed parent company, ensuring adherence to accounting standards.
  • Collaborate with the US Corporate Office on SEC reporting and compliance with US financial regulations.
  • Ensure proper derivative, MTM, and hedge accounting processes are in place.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports and analysis as required to the firm's parent company on a timely basis.
  • Meet with parent company and Hong Kong regional headquarters online regularly.

Compliance & Internal Controls and Department Management
  • Maintain and improve internal control systems and accounting processes to safeguard financial accuracy and compliance.
  • Build a team to support on-going growth and business requirements within allocated budget.
  • Pro-actively identify and propose solutions for internal improvements to policies and systems to better support daily operations and requirements.

Financial Project Management
  • Coordinate with and support external auditors for efficient annual financial audits and quarterly reviews.
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly and quarterly Board of Director reports, as requested by the Corporate Office.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects with the Corporate Office and assist in other finance-related tasks as needed.
  • Liaise with key external stakeholders including banks to negotiate better pricing and terms and communicate on-going business requirements.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A CPA is essential.
  • Experience: A minimum of 10+ years in accounting and audit, with at least 5 years working for a public company. "Big 4" experience is preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Strong technical knowledge of Singapore and USA GAAP, local statutory requirements, and experience with derivative accounting is required.
  • Leadership: Proven experience in leading a finance team, with strong managerial and leadership skills.
  • Analytical Abilities: Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into strategic recommendations.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to liaise with stakeholders across different regions.
  • Global Perspective: Prior experience in managing international subsidiaries is highly advantageous, with the flexibility to coordinate with the US Corporate Office and oversee the financials of our Singapore subsidiary.
  • Proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and accounting software, Microsoft Dynamics 365 is preferred.
  • Willing to work within Retail shop operational hours from 10am to 7pm (Mon-Fri)
