We are looking for a highly motivated individual to support the Chief AI Scientist for Health in developing and driving an A*STAR-wide AI for Health strategy. This role will work closely with senior leadership, research institutes, healthcare partners, and ecosystem stakeholders to strengthen ASTAR's impact in biomedical research, healthcare outcomes, and economic translation through AI.

An Officer in this role will:
- Support the development and execution of an A*STAR-wide AI for Health strategy, aligned with BMRC, SERC, and national priorities.
- Coordinate the mapping of AI for Health capabilities across A*STAR research institutes to identify gaps, synergies, and opportunities for alignment
- Translate strategic directions into actionable implementation roadmaps, including timelines, governance structures, leadership, and milestones.
- Provide programme-level oversight and coordination of AI for Health initiatives across A*STAR to ensure delivery against strategic objectives and milestones
- Enable and coordinate the development of AI solutions by aligning scientific, clinical, and data capabilities to address priority healthcare needs and gaps, leveraging strategic datasets and infrastructure to support precision and digital health outcomes
- Support the development of research programme(s) in alignment with Sectoral Strategies to demonstrate excellence and impact.
- Engage public healthcare institutions and other ecosystem demand drivers to identify priority focus areas and high-impact use cases, and coordinate with A*STAR platforms and functions (e.g., Biomedical Data Hub, ACRC, BMRC, SERC clusters) to enable AI solutions across data, tools, and infrastructure.
Requirements:
- Postgraduate degree in Bioinformatics, Biomedical Informatics, Data Science, or a related field with at least more than 5 years of relevant experience.
- Relevant experience in data-driven health research, research strategy, programme management, and science administration, with intersecting expertise across bioinformatics and biomedical informatics
- Strong understanding of AI and data technologies applied to biomedical research and healthcare, including omics, EHR analytics, and computational modelling
- Experience in coordinating multi-institutional research initiatives, managing complex portfolios, and engaging ecosystem stakeholders
- Familiarity with the national R&D ecosystem, funding initiatives, and platforms
- Excellent analytical, planning, and organisational abilities
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in complex environments involving multiple stakeholders
- Willingness to learn, with adaptability and flexibility to take on tasks beyond the immediate job scope
