Senior legal counsel advises other functions and senior managers using a broad range of legal skills to advance the organisation's commercial agenda. Tasks have a significant impact on the business and include the following:

• Substantially impacts projects and business decisions with high strategic value to the business unit
• May be required to draw expertise from other legal specialists (i.e. those with in depth knowledge in areas such as data protection law, labour law, contract law, mergers and acquisition, and claims)
• Can be assigned authority on legal matters locally and globally
• Significant influence on projects and processes which have a global reach
• Leads continuous improvements on existing concepts and processes
• Drives internal knowledge networks and represents business in external networks and/or towards businessassociates/organisations, and drives thought leadership and innovation that influences changes in the legal profession

This role requires close collaboration with senior management. The role requires a high degree of autonomy and initiative to see the assigned tasks through to successful completion.

Typical duties include:

• Maintain client document templates and general and specific business terms
• Review of outsourcing arrangements and agreements with suppliers and consultants.
• Complaint Handling
• Regulatory watch and legal advice
• Handling of dispute and litigation cases
• Corporate secretary.
