To plan and implement a safe, nurturing and developmentally appropriate learning programme aligned with the Early Years Development Framework (EYDF) and centre curriculum, supporting children's holistic development through responsive caregiving, guided play and early social-emotional learning.

Key Responsibilities

1. Teaching & Learning

  • Plan and implement daily routines and learning experiences appropriate for toddlers
  • Conduct small-group and whole-group activities (songs, sensory play, storytelling, art, movement)
  • Support language development through intentional interactions and modelling
  • Guide children in developing independence (feeding, toileting readiness, dressing, clean-up)
  • Observe and document children's development and learning progress
  • Prepare learning corners and maintain engaging classroom environments

2. Caregiving & Wellbeing

  • Provide warm, responsive and respectful caregiving
  • Supervise meals, hygiene routines and rest times
  • Ensure children's safety at all times indoors and outdoors
  • Identify developmental or behavioural concerns and report to supervisors
  • Maintain health and hygiene standards according to ECDA guidelines

3. Classroom Management

  • Establish predictable routines and positive behaviour guidance
  • Support emotional regulation and social skills (sharing, turn-taking, empathy)
  • Maintain classroom cleanliness and organisation
  • Prepare materials and maintain teaching resources

4. Parent Partnership

  • Communicate daily updates to parents regarding children's routines and wellbeing
  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings and centre events
  • Support parent engagement initiatives and classroom activities

5. Team & Centre Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and assistants
  • Participate in professional development and staff meetings
  • Assist in school programmes, celebrations and open house events
  • Adhere to ECDA regulations, centre policies and child safeguarding practices

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Minimum ACEY / HCIC / L1 or L2 Certification (Early Childhood Care & Education) recognised by ECDA
  • Candidates currently pursuing certification may apply (subject to approval)

Experience

  • Experience working with infants/toddlers preferred
  • Fresh graduates with passion for early childhood welcome
