From complex business transactions to litigation and regulatory matters and the analysis of financial products and services, we support and advise all Deutsche Bank businesses and their interactions with clients. The full-time appointment will join a market-leading Sales and Trading Legal team in Singapore, supporting the bank's Investment Banking division across a broad range of asset classes, including fixed income, FX, emissions and commodities. The preferred candidate will have two-to-six years PQE. The role involves providing legal and regulatory advice to front-office Sales and Trading desks, supporting transactional execution, and managing legal risk across the Asia-Pacific region.

Your key responsibilities:

• Advise Sales and Trading desks on legal, regulatory, and transactional matters relating to a wide range of financial derivatives products, including fixed income, FX, emissions and commodities.
• Draft, review, and negotiate transactional documentation, including but not limited to confirmations, term sheets, and bespoke trading documentation.
• Provide timely support to front-office teams, including Sales, Trading and Structuring on new product initiatives, deal structuring, and execution.
• Liaise with infrastructure functions (e.g., Treasury, Risk, Compliance, Operations, Tax) to ensure transactions are executed in compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Manage legal risk by identifying, escalating, and mitigating issues arising from trading activities, including market conduct, licensing, and cross-border considerations.
• Collaborate with colleagues in Legal and Compliance across the region and globally to ensure consistent legal coverage and knowledge sharing.
• Engage with external counsel as required for specialist advice or legal opinions.

Your skills and experience:

• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in a banking environment
• In house experience in a global investment bank with strong working knowledge of legal and regulatory issues (including EMIR and MiFID) affecting Sales and Trading activities.
• Experience advising on finance linked hedging structures as well as a range of other fixed income products at a transaction level (such as emissions, FX, rates, structured notes) and working knowledge of ISDA documents (including confirmations).
• Familiarity with the documentation and legal issues relating to Sales and Trading, including derivatives and structured products.
• Understanding of the investment banking business.
• Experience of working on cross-border transactions and working with laws of different jurisdictions.
• High level of professionalism and maturity, with the ability to interface cross-departmentally at all levels and work collaboratively with various colleagues at a global level.
• Ability to multi-task and deliver under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills, with attention to detail.
• Team player with the ability to work independently and proactively.
• Intellectually curious and adaptable to new product areas and regulatory developments.
• Written and oral fluency in English.
