Educational Therapist for Dyslexic Kids (Full-Time)

SWORDS & STATIONERY PRIVATE LIMITED
Role Description
As a full-time educational therapist (EdT), you will use the S&S methodology to help our dyslexic kids grow holistically-this includes helping them to develop social-emotional skills (e.g., communication) and values (e.g., resilience), and maximising their academic potential. You will work with kids aged 9 to 16, in groups of up to 4. You are also expected to liaise closely with their parents, updating them every once in a while when major milestones are reached.
Near the end of each academic year, you will conduct parent-therapist conference (PTC) sessions with your students' parents to discuss their progress. Along with that, you will need to develop a yearly progress report for each student that details the techniques and concepts covered for that year, as well as areas that they have improved and need improving in.
Besides working with students and their parents, you may also be called upon to help facilitate ad hoc workshops or events. From time to time, we work with other organisations such as institutes of higher learning to raise awareness on dyslexia and game-based learning approaches.
You are also expected to contribute to the development of the S&S curriculum. This can be in the form of worksheets, manipulatives, or even resources to be shared with the dyslexia community.
Our Expectations
As this job requires working with kids and teens, we expect the following of our educational therapists:
Start Date, Training & Probation
Tentatively, commencement of the job will be on 15 June 2026. Upon starting, you will be placed under a 6-month probation period. During this period, training will be provided to familiarise you with the S&S approach.
