Job Description
The Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music (YST) is seeking a full-time Teaching Assistant (Violin). The initial term of appointment shall be for one year (renewable).
The job scope will include working with the Head of Strings and Violin Studios in teaching Violin Majors. In addition, the postholder will offer secondary study tuition to a select number of the Conservatory's instrumental students.
Responsibilities of the appointment include:
• Assist in teaching Violin Major students and all activities related to the Conservatory's Violin Studios, including preparing students for competitions and other major events.
• Producing and integrating videos for teaching and learning.
• Working with YST's Admissions in student recruitment for the Violin studio.
• Administrative Support and Co-Ordinator for Strings department
Qualifications
Requirements for interested applicants include:
• A Masters degree in Violin Performance.
• Significant performance experience as a soloist and international competition prize winner.
• Teaching experience in a conservatory or other tertiary-level institutions focused on professional training at an elite performance level.
• Experience in recording instrumental performance and instructional videos, with basic video and audio editing skills.
• Passion for teaching, engaging and supporting undergraduate conservatory students.
• Works well in a collaborative and innovative conservatory environment.
