Role Summary

We are seeking a senior technical and commercial leader to establish, develop, and drive the growth of our advanced laser cladding services division. This pivotal role is responsible for the complete strategic, operational, and profit & loss performance of the department. The ideal candidate will be a technically expert professional with a proven ability to translate engineering excellence into commercial success, penetrating key industrial markets including Marine, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, and Heavy Industry.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic & Commercial Leadership:

• Develop and execute the comprehensive business strategy, service portfolio, and operational roadmap for the laser cladding division.
• Own the department's P&L, driving utilization, productivity, profitability, and market share growth.
• Act as the primary bridge between technical capabilities and market demand, positioning laser cladding as a superior alternative to conventional repair methods.
• Lead customer engagement, technical proposal development, and strategic partnership initiatives.
• Define departmental KPIs, budgets, and oversee CAPEX planning and justification.

Technical & Quality Assurance:

• Serve as the ultimate technical authority, approving WPS/pWPS, repair methodologies, and procedure qualifications.
• Ensure strict compliance with OEM, Class Society (e.g., DNV, ABS, LR), and international standards (ASME, ISO/EN).
• Lead technical submissions, audits, and engagements with certification bodies.
• Direct root cause analysis for non-conformities and implement robust corrective/preventive actions.
• Maintain full traceability of materials, processes, and inspection records.

Operational & Team Management:

• Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of technical and sales professionals.
• Develop competency frameworks, structured training programs, and succession plans.
• Foster a strong culture of safety, quality, continuous improvement, and operational discipline.
• Oversee all departmental operations, ensuring efficiency, compliance, and adherence to company policies.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Education: Minimum Diploma/Degree in Mechanical, Electro-Mechanical, or Metallurgical Engineering.
• Experience: At least 5 years of hands-on, in-depth experience with industrial laser systems, welding metallurgy, and surface engineering technologies.
• Industry Background: Proven track record in the Marine, Oil & Gas, Power Generation, or related heavy industrial sectors.
• Certifications: Professional welding certifications (IWE, IWT, IWS, CSWIP, AWS) and knowledge of ASME Sec IX/ISO standards are strong advantages.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings and engineering designs. Familiarity with AutoCAD, robotic systems, or laser programming is beneficial.
• Leadership Skills: Demonstrated strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
• Personal Attributes: Results-driven, detail-oriented, able to work professionally under pressure, and possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
