About the Role

This role is designed specifically for newly-graduated educators or tutors with limited formal classroom experience who want to be trained properly, mentored closely, and developed into confident, high-impact English teachers. If you have mainly done 1-to-1 private tutoring, this role offers the structure, support, and pedagogy to help you scale your teaching skill professionally.

You will focus primarily on teaching excellence and classroom delivery, while being gradually introduced to curriculum thinking through guided exposure - not thrown into the deep end.

Teaching locations will also be based on our five branches - Jurong East, Bukit Timah, Novena, Hougang and Marine Parade.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching & Classroom Delivery

• Deliver illum.e's Secondary English lessons (Sec 1-4) using our structured lesson plans, materials, and teaching frameworks
• Build students' confidence, clarity of expression, and examination readiness through guided practice and feedback
• Learn to manage small-group classrooms effectively, even if your prior experience has been mostly 1-to-1

Pedagogical Development (Training-Focused)

• Undergo structured in-house training in lesson delivery, questioning techniques, explanation clarity, and marking standards
• Observe experienced teachers, co-teach where appropriate, and receive regular feedback on your teaching
• Develop strong fundamentals in grammar teaching, writing instruction, and comprehension strategies

Student Progress & Support

• Monitor student understanding during lessons and flag learning gaps to Leads
• Apply feedback from mentors to refine your teaching and communication week by week

Light Curriculum Exposure (Supported)

• Support minor curriculum refinement tasks (e.g. improving worksheets, suggesting clarifications) under guidance
• No expectation to independently design full curricula or assessments at this stage

Who We're Looking For

• Fresh graduates or early-career educators with a strong command of English
• Tutors with mainly 1-to-1 private tutoring experience who want to grow into classroom teaching
• Clear communicators who enjoy explaining ideas simply and precisely
• Coachable, reflective, and genuinely eager to improve as teachers
• Prior MOE or centre experience is welcome but not required
