Job Description

The successful candidate will work with Dr Ying Kai LOH on the synthesis and isolation of next-generation carbene species under a project on Breaking the Octet Rule: From Octet-Defying Carbon Species to Transition Metal Surrogates.

The main responsibilities of the position include:
1) Setting up/managing the lab
2) Conduct experiments
3) Mentor undergraduate/graduate students

Qualifications

Qualifications / Discipline:

BSc in Chemistry

Skills:

Schlenk line and glovebox techniques for chemical synthesis

Experience:

Handling air- and moisture-sensitive compounds
