Job Description: Wholesale Trade Manager

Position Overview

The Wholesale Trade Manager oversees all wholesale trading operations, driving sales growth, building strong relationships with suppliers and customers, and ensuring efficient supply-chain and inventory management. This role is responsible for expanding market reach, optimizing pricing strategies, and leading a team to achieve high-performance results within the wholesale trading environment.

Key Responsibilities

Sales & Business Development

  • Develop and execute strategies to grow wholesale sales and market share.
  • Identify new business opportunities, markets, and customer segments.
  • Negotiate and finalize deals with key accounts, distributors, and suppliers.
  • Set pricing, discounts, and margin strategies to maximize profitability.

Supplier & Customer Relationship Management

  • Maintain strong, long-term relationships with suppliers and key clients.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and negotiate favorable terms.
  • Handle major customer accounts and resolve high-level inquiries or issues.

Inventory & Operations Management

  • Oversee inventory planning, stock movement, and replenishment.
  • Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery and smooth operations.
  • Monitor product performance, slow-moving stock, and market trends.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, train, and guide the wholesale operations and sales team.
  • Set KPIs and performance goals for team members.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and coaching sessions.

Financial Planning & Reporting

  • Prepare sales forecasts, budgets, and cost analyses.
  • Monitor revenue, expenses, and profit margins.
  • Present monthly performance reports to senior management.

Job Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Diploma or Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Marketing, or related field.
  • Minimum 3-5 years experience in wholesale trade, distribution, FMCG, or related industries.
  • Proven track record in sales growth, negotiation, and managing wholesale clients.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of wholesale trading processes, pricing strategies, and market dynamics.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficient in inventory management and sales forecasting.
  • Ability to analyze data and make strategic decisions.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, ERP systems, or inventory software.
