About the role
We are seeking a highly capable and forward-looking Finance Operations Manager to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting, financial and regulatory reporting, or product control, along with a demonstrated ability to drive change and streamline operations. This position is suited for professionals with approximately ten years of relevant experience, ideally gained within financial services and encompassing financial accounting, regulatory reporting, preparation of financial statements, and operational transformation. The role requires a mature, intelligent, and self-driven individual with strong leadership potential and a commitment to operational excellence.
It is important to note that this is not a conventional accounting role. Instead, it is focused on finance change management, demanding expertise in business process re-engineering, systems integration, and the development of scalable operating models.
What you'll do
• Champion change management initiatives and drive operational excellence throughout the finance function.
• Lead system and data transformation projects, including the harmonisation of databases, upgrading of financial accounting packages, and simplification of Excel-driven infrastructure.
• Streamline management reporting and workflow operations to promote greater efficiency and scalability.
• Drive the adoption of automation and digital solutions, including Bloomberg, finance systems, and Python-based tools, to enhance finance operations.
• Develop and continuously improve product control frameworks, accounting policies, and governance models.
• Oversee financial control and reporting, ensuring accuracy and integrity across all outputs.
• Oversee the preparation of management accounts, financial statements, and regulatory reporting processes.
• Strengthen accounting governance, policies, and controls across all business entities.
• Ensure full compliance with applicable regulatory frameworks.
• Manage relationships with service providers to maintain cost efficiency and a robust operating model.
• Serve as the main finance resource for cross-functional teams, including accounting, legal and compliance, mid-office, investment operations, and investment analysts.
What we are looking for
Experience & Knowledge
• Experience in finance, accounting, product control, or financial operations, including exposure to reporting and regulatory requirements spanning 5 to 10 years.
• Proven track record in project and change management, covering regulatory reporting, outsourcing, database upgrades, and the simplification of reporting frameworks.
- Experience in financial institutions and investment markets is essential.
• Strong technical and systems proficiency, with familiarity in Bloomberg, finance systems, and Excel modelling. Experience with Python is preferred, though not required.
