Visiting Professor Position in Mathematics
Young and research-intensive, Nanyang Technological University (NTU Singapore) is ranked 12th globally. It is also placed 1st among the world's best young universities.
The College of Science seeks a diverse and inclusive workforce and is committed to equality of opportunity. We welcome applications from all and recruit on the basis of merit, regardless of age, race, gender, religion, marital status and family responsibilities, or disability.
The Division of Mathematical Sciences (MAS) at SPMS, NTU invites applications for positions at the rank of Visiting Professor in Mathematics. We are looking for candidates holding a Ph.D. degree in mathematics or a closely related area.
The Visiting Professor will collaborate with MAS colleagues on Hamiltonian and Lagrangian techniques for nonlinear multi-physics and multiscale systems, with a particular focus on geometric methods, including symplectic and Poisson geometry. Applications include complex fluids, plasma physics, and mixed classical-quantum dynamics. During the appointment, the candidate will also explore collaborations with colleagues from PAP and other Schools within NTU.
The candidate should have at least 10 years of experience in geometric techniques and their application to modeling nonlinear systems. They should have a proven ability to secure external research funding and regularly publish in renowned international journals.
Enquiries about the position can be addressed to Professor Juan Pablo Ortega, at juan-pablo.ortega@ntu.edu.sg.
Applications will be accepted until the positions are filled. All applications and materials submitted will be held in strict confidence. Only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
