The lab of RNA in Disease and Translational Technologies at the Institute of Molecular and Cell Biology, A*STAR, Singapore is seeking to recruit a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Scientist or Senior Postdoctoral Research Fellow/Scientist to join a team developing a ribozyme-based RNA platform for gene therapy (including neurological diseases).
The work will involve molecular biology - RNA design, in vitro transcription, cell-free RNA assays, RT-qPCR, molecular cloning, as well as cell biology, including cell culture, cell transfection, flow cytometry, CRISPR and prime editing. Experience in any of the following is preferred: AAV or gene therapy construct design, high-throughput cell-screening methods e.g. CRISPR-or related library screens, and bioinformatics.
Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Genetics, Neuroscience or a related discipline. The successful candidate will have strong interest and expertise in RNA biology, cell biology, biochemistry and molecular biology techniques, a strong publication record that includes at least one first author research paper in a well-regarded journal, and strong scientific writing skills. They will be creative, highly motivated, and be able to work independently, with good organisational and interpersonal skills. Our lab is collaborative and interdisciplinary, and the successful candidate should be able to work effectively and harmoniously in a diverse team. As a Research Fellow, they will also be expected to mentor and train students and Research Officers.
IMCB provides a competitive remuneration package commensurate with your specific qualifications and experience. We welcome interested applicants to submit a brief cover letter, full CV and contact details of two professional referees to Dr Sherry Aw (syaw@imcb.a-star.edu.sg).
Applications will be accepted until the position is filled. We regret that only shortlisted applicants will be notified.
