HEAD OF SCHOOL - BIOMEDICAL SCIENCE & LIFE SCIENCE
Candidates with clinical and training background and specialise in life science, biomedicine, bio- chemistry, microbiology is preferred. Candidates should be able to teach 1 or 2 subjects listed below:
i. Biochemistry
ii. Clinical Techniques in Biomedical Science
iii. Laboratory Techniques in Bioscience or Life Sciences
iv. Integrated Human Physiology and Anatomy
v. Principles of Molecular and Cellular Biology
vi. Computational Thinking for Life Sciences
vii. Genetic and Protein Engineering Technologies
viii. Advanced Immunology: Molecular and Cellular Perspectives
ix. Biomedical Science in Clinical Practice
x. Metabolism in Health and Disease and related subjects.
xi. Research Methodologies in Bio-medical Science
Job Descriptions:
i. Academic Oversight: Ensure the delivery of high-quality, innovative, and industry-relevant academic programs.
ii. Faculty & Staff Management: Recruit, mentor, staff planning, module planning and timetable planning and manage academic and administrative staff to ensure quality teaching and performance.
iii. Course Content Development: Create Curriculum and course content; and assessments.
iv. Laboratory management: Resource Planning, Lab Planning & Scheduling.
v. Quality Assurance: Oversee curriculum development, accreditation processes, and quality assurance for academic programs.
vi. Student Experience: Promote a student-centered learning environment, manage student induction, and enhance student engagement and success.
vii. Industry & Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with industry partners, alumni, and other stakeholders.
viii. Financial & Operational Management: Manage budgets and resources necessary for the school to execute its duties.
ix. Institutional Representation: Represent LSBF in academic and professional forums to enhance its reputation. Participate in department and school meetings.
x. Keep updated with developments in subject area, teaching resources and methods and make relevant changes to instructional plans and activities.
xi. Any other duties assigned by DOS.
Job Requirements:
i. A doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in a Bio-medical Science; Life Science; Biotechnology; Bioinformatics, Healthcare or Social care Management or relevant field is often a requirement.
ii. Extensive experience in teaching, administration, and leadership within an academic setting.
iii. Strong leadership, management, and communication skills.
iv. The ability to think critically and strategically to drive academic excellence.
v. A student-focused approach and a commitment to providing an outstanding learning experience.
vi. Candidate should have Life Sciences or Biomedical related Degree and master's degree (PhD preferred) in specializing in any of the subjects listed above:
