Position: Kitchen Assistant (Secondary School)

Location: Kovan
️ Contract Period: 1 January 2026 - 31 December 2027

Working Hours

• Mon - Thu: 7:00am to 4:30pm (includes 45-min lunch break)
• Fri: 7:00am to 4:00pm (includes 45-min lunch break)
• Exam periods: May need to stay until 6:00pm (extra hours can be offset by leaving early on other days)
• Off days: Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays

Job Responsibilities

• Help prepare utensils and ingredients for teachers and students during cooking/practical lessons and exams
• Keep the kitchen (NFS rooms), utensils, and equipment clean and tidy
• Regularly check and clear expired or spoiled food from the fridge, and wipe shelves
• Support teachers in cleaning and checking equipment after lessons
• Lock up and secure kitchen rooms when not in use
• Report any equipment faults or maintenance issues
• Assist with stock-taking of utensils and equipment
• Perform other duties assigned by the school when needed

Requirements

• Able to understand simple English and Mandarin
• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role
• Familiar with basic kitchen appliances and safety practices
• Holds a valid WSQ Food Safety and Hygiene Certificate
• Team player and able to work independently with minimal supervision
