Lico Resources is partnering with a well-established financial services organisation that provides benchmark and index solutions to institutional clients across the Asia‑Pacific region. The organisation is seeking a proactive, analytically minded professional to lead index development initiatives for the region, working closely with product, operations and commercial teams to convert research into investable solutions.

This role offers an opportunity to own the end‑to‑end creation and launch of index-based products used by asset managers, ETF issuers and institutional investors. You will combine quantitative rigour with commercial awareness to design, document and operationalise indices that support product growth across the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the entire index product lifecycle: ideation, quantitative simulation, construction, back‑testing and launch.
• Design robust index methodologies and maintain clear, audit‑ready documentation to support governance and compliance.
• Build and validate index construction pipelines, including rules implementation, weighting schemes and rebalancing logic.
• Analyse large market datasets to shape index rules that meet client objectives and commercial targets.
• Produce scenario analyses, stress tests and performance attribution to support product approvals and client conversations.
• Partner with product, operations and compliance to transition new indices into ongoing production and governance.
• Prepare market commentary, pitch materials and thought leadership content to help drive adoption across institutional and retail channels.
• Monitor industry trends (passive products, ETFs, ESG/climate themes) and propose enhancements or new index concepts that address market demand.

Qualifications

Must‑have

• Experience in index research, product development or quantitative product roles at an index provider, asset manager or investment bank.
• Strong quantitative and analytical capability; able to design and troubleshoot non‑standard solutions.
• Hands‑on programming ability in Python and advanced Excel modelling skills.
• Practical experience with financial data sources and time‑series handling.
• Solid understanding of index governance, corporate actions and operational considerations for tradable products.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting technical analyses to senior stakeholders.

Desirable

• Familiarity or interest in ESG/climate investing and how these themes are implemented in index design.
• Advanced degree in a quantitative discipline (STEM, Finance, Economics) preferred.
• Mandarin language skills advantageous for stakeholder engagement across the region.
• Prior exposure to ETF product lifecycles or working with distribution teams.
