Core responsibilities

• Process transactions: Scan products, accurately ring up sales, and accept various forms of payment, including cash, credit cards, and gift cards.
• Handle payments: Collect correct payments, provide accurate change, and issue receipts.
• Provide customer service: Greet customers, answer questions, resolve complaints, and handle returns and exchanges.
• Maintain the checkout area: Keep the checkout lane and surrounding area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.
• Manage money: Count cash in the register at the beginning and end of shifts and report any discrepancies.
• Follow store policies: Adhere to all company policies, including security, cash handling, and anti-theft procedures.

Additional duties

• Bag groceries for customers.
• Cross-sell and promote store products.
• Assist with stocking shelves and maintaining inventory.
• Verify the age of customers for age-restricted purchases.
