Project Manager (Construction Industry)

Job Scope / Responsibilities

  1. Project Planning & Scheduling
    Develop and manage overall project timeline and work schedules
    Define project milestones, deliverables, and key deadlines
    Coordinate planning with architects, engineers, and consultants
  2. Budgeting & Cost Control
    Prepare project budgets and cost estimates
    Monitor expenses and control project costs
    Approve invoices, variations, and procurement requests
  3. Contract & Stakeholder Management
    Manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers
    Handle negotiations and resolve contractual issues
    Communicate regularly with clients and stakeholders
  4. Team Coordination & Supervision
    Lead site teams and supervise contractors/subcontractors
    Assign responsibilities and monitor performance
    Conduct regular site visits to ensure work is on track
  5. Quality Assurance & Compliance
    Ensure construction work meets design specifications and quality standards
    Implement and enforce safety, health, and environmental regulations
    Address site issues and non-compliance promptly
  6. Risk Management
    Identify risks and implement mitigation plans
    Resolve project delays, disputes, and emergencies effectively
  7. Reporting
    Prepare progress reports and updates for senior management and clients
    Track project performance using KPIs and reporting tools

Job Requirements

Education & Certifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field
  • Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is an advantage
  • Knowledge of local construction regulations and building codes

Experience

  • 5-10 years of experience in construction project management
  • Proven track record of managing medium to large-scale construction projects
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders (consultants, contractors, authorities)

Skills

  • Strong project planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent leadership and communication abilities
  • Proficient in software such as Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, AutoCAD, or BIM tools
  • Ability to handle budget control, risk assessment, and resource allocation

Personal Qualities

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
  • Able to work under pressure and manage tight deadlines
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
