The Workshop Manager/ Facilities Management Manager (FMD) is responsible for overseeing all facility maintenance operations, including the development and execution of preventive and corrective maintenance programs. This role ensures operational efficiency, cost-effectiveness, HSSE compliance, and continual improvement across the workshop and facility infrastructure. The position will also play a key role in managing emergency responses and ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintenance Program Development & Execution

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Monitoring List.
  • Optimize the performance and deployment of the existing FMD team to efficiently carry out routine and unscheduled maintenance.
  • For tasks beyond internal capability, proactively plan and engage external contractors, ensuring quality, reliability, and cost competitiveness.

2. Budget Preparation and Cost Management

  • Prepare and manage the annual facilities maintenance budget, ensuring accurate forecasting and no budget overruns.
  • Implement cost optimization strategies to reduce operational costs (e.g. utilities, headcount) by at least 5% compared to the previous year.

3. Emergency Response & Minimal Downtime

  • Ensure swift and effective response to emergency breakdowns to minimize operational interruptions.
  • Maintain clear escalation and response procedures for urgent incidents.

4. Workshop SIMOPS and HSSE Compliance

  • Oversee Simultaneous Operations (SIMOPS) and ensure Permit to Work (PTW) systems are enforced.
  • Ensure strict HSSE compliance across all workshop and maintenance activities.

5. Facility Security Management

  • Manage and monitor gate pass control, coordinate with security personnel, and oversee physical and electronic security systems (e.g. CCTV monitoring).

6. Continual Improvement Initiatives

  • Drive operational excellence by implementing one measurable improvement initiative per quarter (e.g. system automation, process upgrades, cost-saving projects).

7. Additional Responsibilities

  • Maintain records, reports, and documentation in line with audit requirements.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to management on maintenance status, cost performance, and improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by management.
