Key Responsibilities:
1. Food Preparation and Cooking
- Assist the Chef de Partie in preparing and cooking menu items according to recipes and quality standards.
2. Kitchen Operations
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area at all times.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Assist in receiving and checking deliveries to ensure quality and quantity compliance.
- Report equipment malfunction or maintenance issues promptly to the Sous Chef.
3. Hygiene, Safety, and Compliance
- Follow food safety, hygiene, and sanitation procedures as per SFA and NEA regulations.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards (WSH).
- Support the implementation of company policies and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
4. Teamwork and Development
- Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service flow.
- Support junior kitchen staff through guidance and teamwork.
- Participate in menu testing, development, and training sessions as required.
- Ensure consistency in taste, portioning, and presentation across all dishes.
- Support in mise-en-place and replenishing ingredients during service.
- Handle food items with proper storage and rotation practices (FIFO).
