We are looking for a Research Fellow to lead critical research activities in the development of quantum-grade nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center diamonds and their application in advanced magnetometry systems.

We are looking for a Research Fellow to lead critical research activities in the development of quantum-grade nitrogen-vacancy (NV) center diamonds and their application in advanced magnetometry systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and optimize chemical vapor deposition (CVD) processes for growing ultra-pure single-crystal diamonds with controlled nitrogen-vacancy center formation
- Implement sustainable synthesis protocols for 12C-isotope enriched diamond fabrication, including gas recirculation systems and process optimization
- Collaborate to execute precision nitrogen doping strategies for deterministic NV center placement
- Collaborate and execute project deliverables for successful NV center diamond-based devices such as vector magnetometer and wide-field RF sensor
- Collaborate with team members across multiple institutions including DSO National Laboratories and A*STAR
- Prepare technical reports, research papers, and presentations for project milestones and deliverables
Job Requirements:
- PhD degree in Physics, Materials Science, Solid State Chemistry, or related field with specialization in diamond technologies and advanced materials characterization techniques
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in diamond CVD growth, or similar synthesis techniques
- Proficiency in cleanroom fabrication processes and materials characterization techniques
- Experience with optical spectroscopy and microwave engineering
- Good writing skills for writing proposals, reports and publications in good academic journals
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively to a multidisciplinary team environment
- Experience with vacuum systems, plasma processes, and gas handling systems preferred
- Knowledge of quantum information science and quantum sensing applications highly desirable
