Job Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Psychotherapist to join our team at a Special Kids Intervention Centre. The successful candidate will work closely with children with special needs, including those with developmental, emotional, and behavioral challenges. You will provide therapy, counseling, and support to children and their families, using evidence-based interventions to enhance their emotional well-being, mental health, and social development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individual and group psychotherapy to children with special needs, addressing emotional, behavioural, and developmental issues.
  • Develop and implement personalized therapeutic plans tailored to the specific needs of each child.
  • Conduct assessments and evaluations to determine the child's emotional and psychological health.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team (including speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educators) to provide integrated care.
  • Offer family therapy and counselling to support parents and caregivers in understanding and managing their child's condition.
  • Monitor progress and adapt therapeutic strategies as needed to meet the evolving needs of the children.
  • Maintain accurate records of sessions, progress notes, and assessments in compliance with ethical and legal standards.
  • Participate in case conferences, team meetings, and professional development sessions to enhance skills and knowledge in special needs care.
  • Provide psycho-education and resources to families and staff to support the ongoing care of the children.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work, or a related field (Ph.D. preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with children, particularly those with special needs (Autism, ADHD, Down Syndrome, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of child development, mental health disorders, and therapeutic interventions for children with special needs.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to improving the quality of life for children with special needs.
