Job Description:
The MRI platform is seeking a highly motivated and committed Research Officer to support our preclinical imaging research initiatives. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn and support MRI operations, as well as work with Spinaligner, our new cutting-edge hyperpolarisation tool, to explore novel probes for disease diagnosis and drug discovery using both in vitro and in vivo models.
This role offers on-the-job training and mentorship within a collaborative and dynamic research environment.

The MRI platform is seeking a highly motivated and committed Research Officer to support our preclinical imaging research initiatives. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn and support MRI operations, as well as work with Spinaligner, our new cutting-edge hyperpolarisation tool, to explore novel probes for disease diagnosis and drug discovery using both in vitro and in vivo models.
This role offers on-the-job training and mentorship within a collaborative and dynamic research environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of MRI and Spinaligner systems.
- Perform wet lab experiments such as routine cell culture for in vitro imaging experiments and biochemical analysis.
- Provide logistical and administrative support, including lab inventory management, equipment maintenance, and adherence to laboratory safety protocols.
- Contribute to experimental design, data analysis, and documentation of research findings.
- Participate in animal handling and support imaging procedures as required.
- Provide technical support for experiments using preclinical models.
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong background in data analysis with prior experience in programs such as Matlab and Python.
- Strong interest and openness to learning new technologies and techniques.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
- Willingness to work with laboratory animals; prior experience is advantageous.
- At least 1 year of prior experience with research work is required, with demonstration of ability to conduct projects successfully and independently.
- Must not have any medical or metal implants (due to MRI safety requirements).
- Responsible, detail-oriented, and able to maintain consistency in routine laboratory tasks with an eagerness to improve productivity and technical workflows.
