Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies, procedures, and programs in compliance with local regulations (e.g., WSH Act, ISO 45001).
• Oversee site safety operations to ensure all activities are carried out in a safe manner and in accordance with the risk assessments and safety plans.
• Conduct regular inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement corrective/preventive measures.
• Lead incident investigations and ensure timely reporting, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective actions.
• Train and guide staff on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and regulatory compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders (project teams, contractors, authorities) to drive a strong safety culture and ensure alignment on safety goals.
• Prepare and submit safety reports to management and relevant authorities as required.
• Monitor and ensure compliance with all statutory requirements and company safety policies.
• Chair safety committee meetings and represent the company during inspections and audits by regulatory bodies.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives in health, safety, and environmental performance.

Requirements:

• Candidate must possess at least a WSH Specialist Diploma, equivalent qualification, or a relevant degree.
• Must be a registered WSH Officer with MOM.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant working experience in the WSH field.
• Self-driven and a strong team player, with leadership qualities and ability to mentor and guide junior staff.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster effective collaboration across departments and levels.
• Able to start work at short notice will be an added advantage.
