Overview
Gusto Collective Singapore is looking for a stratergic and hands-on Art Director to lead the visual direction of our events and brand experiences. As Art Director, you'll be the creative force behind the visual identify and development of events, exhibitions and brand experience for our luxury, fashion, lifestyle and beauty clients. You will transform abstrat ideas into immersive, visually impactful concepts that resonate with our clients, ensuring every design delivers impact, coherence and innovation.
You'll lead and mentor a small design team (2D and 3D designers) while remaininly actively involved in design work, from buiding proposal decks and moodboards to crafting 2D layouts or spatial visualisations. The role blends creative leadership with hands on design, ideal for a senior designer ready to step up or an existing Art Director seeking more creative ownership.

Your areas of focus will be:
- Lead the creative direction and visual identity development of proposals and projects based on client briefs.
- Ideate and conceptualise unique event and brand experience concepts that are visually compelling and strategically aligned.
- Work closely with production and client servicing teams to align creative vision with project objectives and execution feasibility.
- Translate ideas into moodboards, concept decks, visual mockups, and 2D/3D design assets.
- Guide and mentor a small in-house design team (2D/3D designers), providing feedback and ensuring quality and consistency across all deliverables.
- Participate in client presentations and internal reviews, clearly articulating creative concepts and design rationale.
- Oversee the execution of design elements across print, digital, spatial, and environmental applications, ensuring a cohesive and elevated visual experience.
- Stay hands-on throughout the creative process, jumping into design tasks when needed.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, demonstrating excellent time management skills and meeting tight deadlines.
- Display initiative, working both individually and as part of a collaborative team.
- Propose design solutions that not only meet but exceed client briefs, demonstrating creativity and innovation.
- Direct and maintain workflow for the team according to project schedules, ensuring that tasks and deadlines are met consistently.
- Ensure adherence to timelines, budgets, and brand guidelines across all projects.
You will need:
- At least 5 years in a creative role, including at least 1 - 2 years in an art direction or senior design role for events, exhibitions, or luxury projects.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating a range of events, exhibitions, spatial designs, and branding work.
- Experienced in crafting visual concepts, building decks, and storytelling through design.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide and inspire a small creative team.
- Creative problem-solving skills with a keen eye for interior design and luxury aesthetics
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative suite - Illustrator, Photoshop, etc. Knowledge in web design, UI/UX or digital media is a plus.
- A strong sense of composition, realism, texture, color, lighting, and unwavering attention to detail.
- Proven ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Understanding of clients' requirements with ability to execute effectively and efficiently
- In-depth understanding of the events and creative industry, current trends, and emerging technologies.
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Self-motivated and resourceful, with high levels of initiative
- Passionate about design trends, visual culture, and pushing creative boundaries.
