The School of Materials Science and Engineering (MSE) at NTU is seeking a Research Fellow in Fish Immunology and Vaccine Delivery. The successful candidate will investigate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of fish immunity, conduct immune and metabolomics analyses, and support the development of oral vaccine delivery systems to promote sustainable aquaculture.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead research into the cellular and molecular mechanisms of fish immunity, with emphasis on mucosal and systemic responses.
  • Conduct immune profiling, metabolomics, and systems biology analysis to identify biomarkers of immune status and vaccine efficacy.
  • Support the design, optimization, and evaluation of oral vaccine delivery systems, including formulation and in vivo validation in fish models.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in immunology, microbiology, materials science, and aquaculture engineering to translate findings into practical solutions.
  • Publish research results in high-impact journals and present at international conferences.
  • Contribute to grant writing and proposal development to secure external funding.
  • Mentor graduate students and junior researchers in immunology and experimental design.
  • Maintain laboratory facilities, equipment, and biological sample collections to ensure research quality and compliance with biosafety standards.

Job Requirements:
  • PhD in Immunology, Fish Immunology, Aquatic Animal Health, or a related life sciences discipline.
  • Strong background in cellular and molecular immunology, with demonstrated expertise in fish models.
  • Hands-on experience with immunological assays (e.g., flow cytometry, ELISA, qPCR, cytokine profiling) and metabolomics platforms (e.g., LC-MS, NMR).
  • Familiarity with vaccine development and/or drug delivery systems, preferably in oral or mucosal immunization strategies.
  • Proven track record of publications in peer-reviewed immunology or aquaculture journals.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and experimental design skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary research team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in supervising students, project management, or industry collaboration is an advantage.

We regret to inform that only shortlisted candidates will be notified.
