Job Description

The DAS SAS division conducts psychological assessments to diagnose students who have dyslexia and other related learning difficulties. The assessments include detailed discussions with parents on the child's learning background and assessments using psychometric test batteries. DAS Psychologists subsequently make individualised recommendations and refer these students to the DAS Learning Centres for remediation classes, or to other professionals for more specific assistance. Each year, over 800 Preschool, Primary and Secondary students are assessed by DAS Psychologists.

The Referral Reading Officer (RRO) is responsible for providing support to the Admins and Psychologists in the SpLD Assessment Services (SAS) team
  • Answer queries (for example telephone, email and walk-in queries) on admissions and psychological assessments, and refer to the Management where necessary.
  • Conduct screening and profiling for individuals who might be at risk of dyslexia.
  • Facilitate SAS processes in registration, referral reading, preparation of letters and placement of children into DAS programmes and services.
  • Receive all referrals for psychological assessments and placements, enter details into the student management system and forward to the Psychologists for their actions.
  • Request and follow up with reports from external agencies.
  • Assist with appointment registration and payment matters.
  • Assist in screenings, profiling, and concluding sessions.
  • Assist in following up with closure of cases and requests for reports.
  • Record referrals processed and generate relevant reports for tracking.
  • Any other duties as assigned.


Requirements
  • Minimum Diploma in Psychology
  • Candidates with direct relevant experience are welcome to apply
  • Strong administrative skills
  • Able to multi-task and adapt to changing work environment
  • Being conversant in more than one language is favourable


Working Hours

DAS staff have to work when our clients are available. All staff work 44 hours a week, with a 5-day work week.

Working Venue

Successful candidates will be based at Bishan Learning Centre. He/she may also be required to work at other learning centres as instructed by line manager.
