What You'll Do

• Coach, inspire, and challenge students across all levels (~30 hours/week coaching)
• Support operations & administration (~10 hours/week), including scheduling, coach tracking, and school liaison
• Apply your competitive playing background to guide students toward real tournament success
• Grow into a leadership role - we develop coaches, not just hire them
• Represent Chess Grande with professionalism both in the classroom and at events

Who You Are

Path A - Experienced Coach (Preferred)

• At least 3 years of proven coaching/classroom experience
• Hold relevant certifications (FIDE, SCF, MOE)
• Active competitive chess player (FIDE-rated)
• Professional, ambitious, and committed to high standards

Path B - Competitive Player (Training Pathway)

• Strong tournament playing background (no coaching experience required)
• Hungry to learn and grow into a professional coach
• Willing to undergo Chess Grande's structured training program
• Start at lower end of pay range, with growth as you certify and gain experience

Work Arrangement

• Full-time position (~40 hrs/week: 30 hrs coaching + 10 hrs admin)
• Hybrid role: attend the office weekly for coordination and meetings
• School visitations required (1-2 times per week)

Remuneration

• Full-Time Salary Range: $1,800 - $2,400/month
  • Experienced Coaches (Path A): Higher end of the range
  • Competitive Players in Training (Path B): Lower end of the range, with growth through certifications and milestones
• Additional performance rewards and incentives
