Kerry Consulting is currently assisting a US headquartered medical device company to grow their APAC legal team. In this role, you will be supporting primarily the South East Asia and Australia market as part of the APAC scope. You will work closely with the business heads to ensure that they are operating in accordance to the law and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
As part of the APAC Legal Team, you wil provide legal advice on product development, mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and technology licensing. You'll handle the preparation, drafting, and negotiation of various commercial contracts, including leases, customer agreements, and clinical trial agreements, while advising global leadership on transactions. Additionally, you will identify and address legal and compliance risks, offering proactive solutions to mitigate potential business impacts.
You will support the APAC Head of Legal and Compliance with policy implementation, training, and compliance program administration, staying current on legal and regulatory developments. Your work will involve interpreting laws related to data protection, competition, and consumer protection, and advising on appropriate actions. You will also assist with government dealings, provide legal training to employees, and support internal audits or investigations. Furthermore, you will supervise external counsel, manage governance matters and provide support to the wider team when needed.
Requirements
To succeed in this role, you should have a minimum of 7 years' PQE from a Commonwealth jurisdiction. Prior experience in the medical device or pharmaceutical industry will be an advantage. You should be independent and bring along good stakeholder management.
